Monday Listicles: 10 Names We Considered for the Twins
For this week’s topic, Jessica suggested 10 photos from your phone OR 10 names you considered for your kids. I was going to do the phone pictures, but I am sick and can’t figure out how to get them out of my phone (it’s a new phone)… so, here are the ten names we considered for the kids:
- Tarah
- Tara
- Zachary
- Ashleigh
- Taylor (this was a solo choice, the hubs didn’t like it)
- Jeffrey (after my brother)
- Renee (as a middle name for Tarah)
- Troy (what we chose)
- Morgan (what we chose)
- Michael
So, now I get to elaborate… LOL. Troy is named after Troy Polamalu from the Pittsburgh Steelers. His middle name is Michael for my brother (his middle name also). Morgan was supposed to be Ashleigh Morgan for Ashley Force. About two weeks before we had the twins, the hubs decided it sounded better as Morgan Ashleigh. I have a sneaky suspicion the Morgan came from Morgan Lucas who is also a (male) drag racer.
Old habits die hard… for the first week or two of her precious life, I called her by the wrong name on several occasions.
So, I am the proud mom of a son named after a Pittsburgh Steelers safety and a daughter named after two drag racers.
Of course, my dog’s name is Deuce Malibu after both our race cars… so, it doesn’t surprise me a bit.

Great backstories. Of course, as a Ravens fan, I have to be concerned about your decision to name your child after a Steelers player, but Troy is a very nice name so we’ll let it slide. ; ) Erin

I have a friend that swears I named him after Troy Aiken. LOL. Of course, she’s a Cowboys fan.

It’s turned into a game to see who can get the twins the most name-related stuff for their baby books… Mo wasn’t 3 weeks old and already had an Ashley Force autographed picture. Bo has several football cards… its hilarious.

For a moment I thought she was named after a drag… Never mind. I share my name with a famous cross dressing porn star. But I don’t think my mom knew. Love the manes of your twins. They also sound nicely together!
