Free Meal Planning Notes Printable

A simple place to jot down meal ideas, recipes you want to try, and notes for making mealtime a little easier. Keep it handy with the rest of your meal planning pages so you always have a spot to write things down.

You know those random meal-planning thoughts that end up on sticky notes, grocery receipts, or the back of an envelope?

That’s exactly why I created this printable.

Even with a meal planner, grocery list, pantry inventory, and recipe pages, there are always little things that don’t seem to fit anywhere else.

Maybe it’s a recipe you want to try.

Maybe it’s a reminder to stock up on something when it goes on sale.

Maybe it’s a note about a meal your family loved and wants again.

Whatever it is, having one place to keep those thoughts makes life a little easier.

That’s where this free Meal Planning Notes Printable comes in.

Why Use a Meal Planning Notes Page?

Meal planning isn’t always as straightforward as writing down seven dinners and calling it done.

Sometimes there are extra details you want to remember.

I use my notes page for things like:

  • Recipes I want to try
  • Seasonal meal ideas
  • Grocery sale reminders
  • Favorite side dishes
  • Holiday meal planning
  • Freezer meal ideas
  • Food inventory reminders

It’s basically the catch-all page for everything that doesn’t fit somewhere else.

How I Use This Printable

My notes page changes from week to week.

Sometimes it’s full of meal ideas.

Other times it’s a running list of ingredients we’re running low on.

I’ve even used it to keep track of recipes that were a hit so I can add them to my recipe binder later.

The nice thing about a simple notes page is that you can make it work however you need it to.

There are no rules.

Pair It With Your Meal Planner

This printable was designed to work alongside the rest of the meal planning binder.

Together, the pages help answer:

  • What are we eating?
  • What ingredients do we need?
  • What do we already have?
  • What can we prep ahead?
  • Which recipes should we save?
  • What extra information do we want to remember?

The notes page fills in the gaps.

Be sure to head over to the meal planning printable page for the complete binder!
