I first had this delicious sandwich at a little diner in Williams, Arizona. Since then, it has become a staple in our family. If you need something simple for dinner, this is one of those meals I come back to again and again. It’s easy, doesn’t take much time, and works on busy nights.
Why This Meal Works

Notes
This sandwich got its name from a diner in Williams, AZ. They have a similar sandwich on the menu. I asked why it was called an SOB. The server said its because when you bite into it, the jalapenos make you say “SOB.”
Easy Substitutions
- Swap the roast beef for ham or turkey
- Use whatever type of bread or buns you have on hand
- Skip the jalapenos, if needed
What I Serve With It
- Macaroni salad
- Chips
- Healthy Broccoli Salad
