What I Cooked This Week: Easy Family Dinner Ideas

This week's menu included grilled turkey and cheese sandwiches, Italian pork chops, brats and macaroni salad, crunchy beef tacos, and other easy family meals that kept dinner simple.

I don’t know where this week went, but somehow we managed to eat dinner every night. So I’m calling that a win.

This week was a little bit of everything. We had a few easy dinners, a couple of things I hadn’t made in a while, and one night where we just went out instead. Nothing too complicated. Just regular dinners that got us fed.

Here’s what was on the table this week.

This Week’s Meals

Grilled Turkey & Cheese Sandwiches

Turkey. Cheese. Bread. Butter. Into the skillet.

Sometimes dinner really can be that easy.

Italian Pork Chops

These were a nice change from some of our usual weeknight dinners. They’re simple to make but still feel like a little more effort went into dinner. Bonus win for using the peppers from the garden!

Brats & Macaroni Salad

Brats and macaroni salad are always an easy combination. Put the brats on the grill, grab the macaroni salad from the refrigerator, and dinner is done.

Crunchy Beef Tacos

We had crunchy beef tacos this week, which are always an easy dinner around here.

Everyone can add whatever toppings they want, so I don’t have to worry about complaining.

Buffalo Chicken Pizza

We also had Buffalo Chicken Pizza, which is a fun change from our usual pizza night.

It’s one of those meals that feels a little different without making dinner complicated.

Chiles Rellenos Casserole

This was probably the dinner that took a little more effort this week, but it was worth it.

I like having a few casseroles and other easy family meals in the rotation that I can make when we want something a little different.

Dinner Out

Friday was the last first football game for the kids. I ate a soft pretzel for dinner at the game. Don’t judge me – it was delicious. And bittersweet.
